Our Story

Why We're Called Evergreen

Our founder's grandfather planted a row of spruce trees on his farm outside Edmonton in the 1960s. They're still standing. He used to say a good tree and a good house have the same test: can it survive a winter you didn't plan for?

That question shaped how we build. We don't pick materials because they photograph well. We pick them because we've watched what actually cracks, leaks, or fails after five Alberta winters — and we build around avoiding that.

We started out building single homes for families. A few years in, an early client asked us to build a fourplex on a lot next to his own house so his parents could live nearby but not with him. That project taught us the rental side of the business, and we've built both ever since.

The people who build it are the people who answer the phone.Evergreen Dream Home

Our Values

Trust. Quality. Commitment.

Three words. Here's the real story behind each one.

Built on Trust

A client once asked us to match a competitor's lower quote. We showed her their quote next to ours, line by line — and where they'd left out the sump pump, the eavestrough, and half the electrical. She paid more. She also got everything the house actually needed.

Quality That Lasts

Our site super carries a moisture meter in his truck. If drywall goes up over lumber that's even slightly damp, it comes back down. We've delayed closings over this. We've never regretted it.

Commitment to Excellence

Two years after handover, a client called about a cracked tile outside our warranty window. We sent someone anyway. No invoice. That's not a policy we wrote down; it's just what we do.

Local Expertise

We Know Edmonton

A few years ago, a client wanted a walkout basement on a lot in Riverbend. On paper, the grade looked fine. We'd built enough basements near the river valley to know the water table there runs high in spring — so we changed the design before pouring, not after finding out the hard way.

That's the kind of knowledge you only get from building here for years, not from a spec sheet. Every mature neighbourhood in Edmonton has its own quirks: old clay pipes, narrow lots, mismatched setback rules from decades of infill.

  • We've built in over 30 Edmonton neighbourhoods
  • Our excavation crew has worked with us for 12 years
  • We know which streets need extra drainage work before we ever quote
  • Every home is built to handle a −35°C week, not just an average one

Who We Build For

Two Kinds of Client

Families

One client spent four months just deciding where the mudroom should go. Another knew exactly what she wanted from day one and just needed someone to build it right. Both are the same job to us. We slow down for the ones who need it, and move fast for the ones who don't.

Custom Homes

Investors & Developers

Our newest fourplex client asked us to design around future subdivision rules the city hadn't even finalized yet. We built it flexible enough to work either way — because betting wrong on a zoning change costs a lot more than planning for it.

Worth The Drive

Stop By the Job Site

Skip the boardroom. Meet us where the work actually happens: walk a home mid-build, ask the crew questions directly, see the framing before the drywall hides it.
